Privacy Policy

Before GenZ is a voice‑first cultural storytelling platform. We collect the minimum information needed to operate the service. We do not sell your data. We never use your stories to train third‑party AI models without explicit permission. Anonymity is a feature, not an afterthought.

Account information: a username, optional email or phone for account recovery, and an optional self‑declared age range. You can use Before GenZ without providing your real name.

Voice recordings: the audio stories and voice replies you choose to upload. We may generate transcripts for accessibility and search.

Usage data: what you listen to, which stories you save, how long you spend in the app. Used to improve recommendations and the listening experience.

Device data: device type, OS version, app version, language. Used to ensure compatibility and diagnose issues.

• Send essential notifications about your account
• Detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse or harm
• Comply with legal obligations

We share information only in limited circumstances:

• With service providers who help us run the Platform (audio hosting, analytics, security) — all bound by confidentiality obligations
• When required by law — in response to valid legal process, especially for child safety and serious threats
• With your consent — for any other sharing, we ask first

We never sell your personal information. Ever.

Voice is uniquely identifying. We take this seriously. By default, your stories are attributed only to your username. We do not perform voice‑identification analysis on your recordings and we do not share raw audio with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

You may delete any story or reply at any time. Deletion removes the content from public access immediately; full removal from our backups can take up to 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct or update inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated content
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Port your data to another service
• Withdraw consent for any optional processing

Before GenZ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. See our Child Safety page for additional protections we maintain.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or to enforce our agreements.

We use industry‑standard encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security audits. No system is perfect — if we discover a breach that affects you, we will notify you promptly as required by law.

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. When we do this, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses where required.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the Platform after the change constitutes acceptance.
